“Subsidence”

48”x24”x14” (depending on how this one is displayed)

This whale is comprised of 8 separate pieces and can be hung various different ways. With this pice my intention was to give the impression of a creature imploding using texture and color, the result is an unintentional, slightly indigenous look. It’s a fun poice to experiment with placement, like a puzzle! Each piece could be displayed abstractly, or side by side, or slightly askew…or more naturally, just as they are in the photos.

“Subsidence” ceramic with a metal coating made from a gypsum, polymer, and metal dust mixture (Forton). I have enjoyed the company of this piece in and around my studio for the past couple years and I’ve been proud to show it in a couple nice gallery shows …but I’m hoping to find a new home for this one. I’ve got this one priced at $2,200. I’m happy to cut a deal for purchase of more than one item. If you are close enough to Portland, I’m happy to deliver and install it myself.
