NEW ALBUM FUNDRAISER
Hey folks - I’m recording my first 'studio album' in 10 years! I’m excited to work with some of my favorite acoustic musicians, and put brand new music out there. I’m also feeling a little trepidatious about how the music industry has changed over the last decade...
We all know recorded music is essentially free these days. As a result, CD sales and royalties have all but disappeared as a viable source of income for musicians. And, old school record labels who used to front the recording bill are a dying breed.
So who pays for creating and releasing recorded music now? It’s up to artists like me to get creative in raising the money.
Many performing artists we know and love - are living on a shoestring. Taking on the expense of recording an album has become near impossible, especially considering that CD sales are a fraction of what they used to be.
So here I am turning to YOU, the listeners - the folks that want to hear the music. The multitudes of smiling faces to whom I’ve performed countless live shows over the last 4 decades. You are the reason I do this.
I need to raise $24k to cover the costs of recording, mixing, mastering, and to pay a fair wage to musicians, engineers, and co-producers. Anything over my goal will go toward advertising and promoting the work!
I’ve come up with a handful of fun and engaging rewards ranging from - simply pre-purchasing the CD, to joining me in my art studio for a music/art experience, to having me in your home for a private concert!
