Using clay rings and links, I explore the idea of ‘fragile strength’. Inspired by medieval chainmail and jewelry. I translate this protective and decorative metal form into a transient medium. Clay is pliant and fragile, yet the interlocking patterns represent power and connection. Oh, and they look pretty cool hung on a wall!

Zen Chain is the largest swath of ceramic mail I’ve made to date. It hangs on a steel bar supported by two J-hooks.

This piece does NOT include shipping, it is intended for in studio pick-up.

While I do not recommend shipping this piece, I would be happy to inquire with the fine art shippers I use and relay a price for the best and safest way to ship this. Also, I would also be happy to deliver and install to an address within an hour of Portland metro.
