Rings
These chain sculptures, crafted from delicate, handmade clay rings, examine the interplay of vulnerability and resilience. Inspired by the history of armor, the work transforms a traditionally industrial, protective form into a fragile, "stoneware" state, highlighting the inherent tension between structural connectivity and natural brittleness.
The Whale in the Room
What began as a plan to mold a single Orca whale into a pod evolved into a meditative process. Each sculpted form became a mantra, using textural and design variations to symbolize the "disappearance and dissolution" of the species. The resulting work addresses the environmental impact on these creatures—an urgent crisis that often remains the "whale in the room”.
